WELCOME TO
THE GENTLE VILLAGE
Every pregnancy and postpartum journey is unique, whether you’re welcoming your first baby or your third. At The Gentle Village, we believe support should feel personal, practical and deeply nurturing.
Our mission is to walk beside you, not just as clinicians, but as mothers, midwives and feeding specialists who truly understand how big this journey into parenthood can feel. We’re here to provide expert care, personalised feeding support, and a safe space for you to feel confident in your choices and feel further connected to your baby.
You don’t have to figure it all out alone. This village was built for you.

MEET YOUR VILLAGE
Meet Brenda - The Heart Behind The Gentle Village
Registered Nurse | Endorsed Midwife | International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) | Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist
I'm a mum of two and the founder of The Gentle Village. With over 17 years as a Registered Nurse and Midwife, I’ve had the privilege of supporting families through some of their most tender, challenging and transformative moments of early parenthood.
My interest in infant feeding support was sparked by my own journey into motherhood. Like many parents, I was told everything was "normal", even when it didn’t feel that way. I began researching, asking questions, and gradually realised how complex and under-supported it can feel for new parents when it comes to feeding challenges, tongue ties, food allergies and uncomfortable babies.
Now, I combine clinical expertise with lived experienced to provide care that’s both comprehensive and compassionate. My nursing and midwifery background means I’m confident assessing the bigger picture - from recognising when a baby may need a medical specialist review (for unrelated feeding concerns) to addressing complex feeding challenges tied to food allergies, tongue ties and oral function and colicky/refluxy babies. It’s this integration of medical insight and feeding support that allows me to offer families truly holistic care.
At The Gentle Village, you’re not expected to know all the answers - you’re simply met with respect, understanding, and the kind of care that truly listens. I’m so glad you’ve found your way here.
Meet Cheryl - Student IBCLC
Currently Awaiting IBCLC Certification Results
Cheryl brings warmth, wisdom and over two decades of healthcare experience to The Gentle Village. With a background in radiography in a tertiary hospital and a mum of three herself, she understands both the clinical and emotional sides of early parenting.
Cheryl is currently completing her final steps toward becoming an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), with her exam now behind her and results pending. She’s working under supervision and already supports families with feeding challenges, bringing a calm presence and a deep commitment to evidence-based, whole-family centred care.
Having personally navigated feeding difficulties, oral ties and unsettled babies, Cheryl’s approach is rooted in empathy and practical support. She’s passionate about empowering parents and creating space for confident, connected infant feeding.
You may meet Cheryl in clinic, supporting appointments or working alongside our team as part of your care journey.
Meet Renee - Front Office Coordinator
Renee is the friendly face and warm voice behind the scenes at The Gentle Village. As our Front Office Coordinator, she’s often your first point of contact - answering emails, scheduling your appointments and making sure everything runs smoothly from the moment you reach out.
With a calm, reassuring presence, Renee helps create a welcoming experience for every family who walks through our door or gets in touch online. As a mum of four, she understands the juggle and the questions that come with early parenting, and she’s here to make accessing support that little bit easier.
Whether you’re booking in, rescheduling, or just need help navigating your next steps with us - Renee’s here to make the process of accessing support at The Gentle Village as simple and stress-free as possible.
